If you didn’t already know, the Jestr team returned safely this week from Japan after attending the Tokyo Game Show 2026 and we’re already cooking things up in the backend!
If this is your first time here, the Jestr Recap is our way of keeping you up to date on all the cool things going on in the creator community without having you scrape through the discord to find it. From recaps of the creator roundtables to exciting things that were announced.
There’s a lot to cover from the past couple weeks, so lets get into it!
Creator Roundtable
First off, huge shoutout to Alex & Biff for hosting this weeks Jestr Roundtable!
One of the more interesting focus points this week was do I need a good PC to edit?
The short answer is absolutely not. Creators in this community are putting up strong numbers with a single audio transition and very little editing. One of our bigger creators built his channel editing showcases on his phone, on the bus, on the way to and from work. What those videos have in common isn’t production value.
Flashy editing is one style among many, BUT it’s an innovation layer, something you add once the fundamentals are locked in. The fundamentals are the important things that need to land. A tight hook, a script that builds, and a clean CTA. Get those right and simple INTENTIONAL edits are more than enough. Get those wrong and no amount of effects or transitions can save the video.

If you’ve never been to a roundtable session before, this is an event where creators submit their content to be reviewed by the community, and get actionable feedback on what they can do to improve. If you want to be a part of the next creator roundtable, simply **submit to this form** and show up to the event on discord, Mondays 2pm EST!
However, everyone is welcome to join and listen in. The advice given to other creators are things you can apply to your own content.
What’s New in the Community?
New Workshop Scheduled for Next Week 🥳
We’ve put together a workshop with someone extremely talented in what he does, and his passion and love for gaming shows through his content. One of his recent posts was even showcased in an article for pcgamer!
Biffmatic is a creator who consistently produces high quality content, seeing insane growth through his ability to craft engaging scripts and pair them with fast-paced, technical and intentional edits. He has been a pillar in the Jestr community, always willing to help others and now we’re able to do it at a bigger scale.
Join us in the Jestr Discord Stage on Thursday while we explore the Theory of Intentional Editing, where Biff gives his personal insight on key editing fundamentals, the mentality of intention, and shares a peek into how his process flows from the beginning to the final cut.
Clear Your Schedules, October is going to be INSANE 🗓️
October is genuinely going to be one of our busiest months yet. Not only is Steam’s Next Fest returning, but we’ve officially partnered with the Triple I showcase!
Next Fest is week long event on Seam running from October 19th - 26th, where hundreds of games put out public demos for everyone to play. The catch is, only the games with the most traction get displayed on Steams front page during the event. Historically for Jestr, this event is ALWAYS busy with opportunities for creators. However, this month specifically, this isn’t the only big event we have lined up for you.
We’ve collaborated with the The Triple I showcase earlier this year which was HUGE, but this time, we’ve officially partnered with them.
The event is a 45 minute stream that will go live on October 8th, featuring back to back trailers with no ads, no hosts, no interruptions. Its a huge event for indies, so expect to see campaigns rolling in for that here shortly!
We’re doing something special for the Subtember to Remember Finale 🏁
Next week is the LAST week of our Subtember to Remember event, and so far its been a HUGE success!
This Wednesday wraps up the entire event, and we have something special planned for the last day.
After a lot of deliberation, the JESTR team will be streaming LIVE during the last day of Subtember to Remember hosted by Mahdeen 🎉
It will be his first time ever streaming, chatting with the community and playing games with members of the Jestr team.
If this is your first time hearing about Subtember to Remember, this event was put together to support the streamers in the community, by collaborating on an organized raid train schedule that ran every Monday & Wednesday through the entire month of September.
Shoutout to all the creators that participated this past month! We love seeing the community support each other through events like this, and a HUGE shoutout to Preacher & MrEricAlmighty for making this all possible! :)
We sponsored an award at The Streamer Awards 🫣
We mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, but Jestr is officially sponsoring the Hidden Gem Award at The 2026 Streamer Awards.
This specific award is for a streamer who averages under 200 views, which is the most Jestr award on the entire list.
Although Jestr is a shortform focused platform, we recognize the amount of creators who have a passion for streaming. It would be absolute cinema if the award sponsored by Jestr, was won by a Jestr creator! That being said, if you have someone in the community that you want to vote for, you can vote for them directly on the Streamer Awards website!
Voting ends on October 31st, and the full stream will be live on Twitch and Youtube on November 12th at 8:30pm Eastern Time.
